It was a giant search light!

The picture was clear in my mind.  It looked very similar to a lighthouse: a tall white tower, standing high in the middle of the city, and a great white light emanating out from it.  The light shone out into the darkness.  But, something was different about this picture.  There was something special about this light.  Something unusual.  The light coming from the search tower was sent out on a mission.  The light wasn’t attracting, it was searching.  People weren’t looking for the light; the light was looking for people.  The light moved around the whole city.  It was searching.  It was going out.  It was sent to those who needed help, to those who needed to hear Good News, and to those who needed Kingdom breakthrough in their lives. This was no usual lighthouse.

The light was sent out on a mission: to seek and save the lost.

This last week, I had the opportunity to pray with an International Worker friend.  I was in the company of our elders and lead pastor.  We prayed over our International Worker friend and he prayed over us.  When our friend prayed, I had the picture of a giant search light in my mind.  It was no usual lighthouse; the light was being sent out to all parts of the city!  The light went to seek and save the lost.  It was a beautiful picture to behold.

At Mission Creek, we desire to encounter Jesus, to see people empowered by the Holy Spirit, and to engage our city and beyond.  We don’t go to a church; we are the church.  We want the King to take hold of his people, and we want the realities of the Heaven (i.e. wholeness, healing, justice, forgiveness, peace, etc) to breakthrough in our city and beyond.

This fall, will you take the next step with us?  The next step is to join an empower group.

If you want to experience the fullness of church, please consider an empower group.  (We have a number of new options coming this fall!)  Empower groups help people move from Sunday worship gathering to being the church.  Empower groups journey together in prayer, community, faith, and living out the vision and mission that God has for us.

Please contact me if you have any questions, comments, or want to join in.

May you be filled with the Spirit this week,

Pastor Cameron
