An update for our Missionaries Murray & Michelle Derksen
Hi church family, thank you for your continued prayers on our behalf and on behalf of the Caribbean Sun Region. We continue to commute to Latin America to do our job (because of Michelle's ongoing health situation). That is why you see us around once in a while. It has been a full fall with significant answers to prayer and God stories. Just a few highlights:
- God is rekindling fire and passion in our Latin American churches and they are sensing God's missional call to go and reach the leach reached and unengaged in the world. Murray had the privilege this fall to be involved in a number of conferences where many were at the altar asking for a fresh filling of the Holy Spirit.
- In November we had all of the International Workers (with both Canada and US C&MA), that work in Latin America, come together for a retreat. We were about 235 people in total. The worship, the camaraderie, the sense of God's presence at work among us was captivating and changed us. It was more than we had hoped for and definitely worth all the time and effort of planning etc.
- For 6 and a half years we have been working towards opening an International School in Mexico City. In December, we finally found and rented a school facility with plans to open in August 2016. This is a huge answer to prayer.
