The Board of Elders met on Tuesday, April 28th, 2026 for our regular monthly meeting. During this meeting we spent time focusing on 3 main areas: Prayer for our church, Spiritual Development, and Governance matters. Here is a brief overview of our meeting:
- Prayer- During each meeting we spend time praying for the people in our church. We pray specifically for those whose names have been brought forward with specific requests as well as for different groups. We pray for the staff, for the programs that take place in our building, and we give thanks for the ways God specifically answers our prayers. Our ongoing prayer for our church is that we would be a place where people fall in love with Jesus, and that we would have a vision for how our building can be used to serve the people in our city.
- Spiritual Development- Our book study of Managing Leadership Anxiety by Steve Cuss continues and this month the chapters were on Sources of Relational Anxiety and Applying Family Systems to Leadership. The discussion centred on how external sources can trigger internal anxiety, and how a healthy leader can shift the health of an entire system.
- Governance Matters- As part of our perpetual calendar, this month we reviewed the Active Membership list to ensure it is up to date and discussed if there was need for a Town Hall Meeting ahead of General Assembly. It was decided that there is no need for a meeting as there are no major topics on the agenda for this year and the representatives attending will have the information ahead of time for review.
- Financial Reports for March were reviewed and approved. We are in a good position at this point in the year and are thankful for the faithful giving each month that allows our church to continue to run ministries that shine the light of Jesus into our city.
We are thankful for all of you and what God is doing in our midst. We covet your prayers for our congregation, your pastors and staff, your board, and for this city and the world beyond. As always, we welcome your comments, questions and prayer requests. Feel free to email us anytime at board@mcachurch.ca.
