The Board of Elders met on Tuesday, June 23rd for or our regular monthly meeting. During this meeting we spent time focusing on 3 mean areas: Prayer for our church, Spiritual Development and Governance matters. Here is a brief overview of our meeting:

1. Prayer- Each month we spend time praying for our church and for the requests that have been brought specifically to the Board as well the individuals that God places on our hearts. This month we give thanks for the healing that is taking place among our church members who have been struggling with long-term illnesses. We continue to pray for the staff and families at MCA and we pray that God would give us a vision for our church and awaken new gifts within our congregation. We invite you to pray along with us and share the things that God is doing!

2. Spiritual Development- This month we completed our book study (Managing Leadership Anxiety by Steve Cuss) with the chapters on Verbatims: Knowing How You Show Up and the final chapter A Wider Scope and a Deeper Capacity. We were challenged to slow down to take time to reflect and were asked the question “What scares you?” with the challenge to try something new.

3. Governance Matters- This month we spent quite a bit of time reviewing the proposed budget for the 2027 fiscal year with the final approval to take place at the July meeting. The review asked us to consider the following: Does this budget represent our ministry priorities and stated ends? And Does the plan appropriately balance ministry needs and long-term stewardship?

4. Financial Reports for May were reviewed and approved. We are thankful for our church that continues to give faithfully and generously. This allows us to continue to run ministries over the summer that continue to make Jesus known in our city.

We are thankful for all of you and what God is doing in our midst. We covet your prayers for our congregation, your pastors and staff, your board, and for this city and the world beyond.
