Lent is a season (Feb 18-April 2, 2026) to pay attention and prepare for Easter; to consider God’s incredible love and provision. Many give up something during this season to remind themselves. This year we are asking you to take something up! In three ways, during this season, we invite you to take up PRAYER.
- Ash Wednesday: Feb 18th,we will have a worship and prayer event at the church starting at 6:30pm. This is for everyone. We will have another one in March (dates to follow).
- Prayer Room: During lent, there will be a prayer room open and available at the church during office hours Monday - Thursday from 9-2. There will be resources available there, plus a prayer wall you can contribute to. We invite you to come and take some time with Jesus, alone, or with a friend, or a group of friends as often as you’d like.
- WALK – We all love Kelowna. Jer.29:7 says “Seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the LORD for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.” We can pray for flourishing, for peace and for open hearts towards the love of God, and however God leads you to pray. We are joining with other churches to walk and pray in our city (especially in the downtown core) during lent. Different churches have signed up for different days of the week, and we have signed up to pray on Fridays. Would you join us (even if it is a different day of the week)?
- Walk and pray, especially on Fridays, for the next 6 weeks (by yourself of with others)
- Be attentive to what you see and ask God how he would like you to pray
- Sign up at michelle@mcachurch.ca so we can journey and learn together
- Consider sharing in the group email how you are being led to pray so we can watch for themes and specific things God highlights as we journey and grow together.
